Staff Veterinarian - Anesthesiologist

Angell Animal Medical Center (AAMC) in Boston, MA is seeking applicants for a second Anesthesiologist. Angell has served the great Boston and New England area as a primary care facility, a 24-hour emergency hospital, and as a tertiary referral center for over 100 years. A premier institution that boasts a veterinary staff composed of 55 senior staff members, 19 interns, and 14 residents, Angell offers specialists in the areas of anesthesia, avian and exotic medicine, behavior, cardiology and cardiac surgery, dentistry, dermatology, diagnostic imaging, emergency and critical care medicine, internal medicine, neurology and neurosurgery, nutrition, oncology, ophthalmology, anatomic and clinical pathology, radiation therapy, and surgery. Angell AMC is one of a handful of animal hospitals that has a full time, freestanding pain medicine service staffed by a specialist. The pain medicine service has a busy outpatient chronic pain and palliative care clinic and provides in-house consultations.

Angell offers a state of the art hospital containing a critical care unit, a well-stocked blood bank, multiple specialty rooms, 6 surgical suites, an intermediate care ward, and numerous general care and isolation wards. Angell’s diagnostic imaging department has onsite MRI, CT, and fluoroscopy. We have a very diverse staff that works collaboratively and are interested in, and practice progressive and up to date medicine.

We are seeking a second anesthesiologist to help lead our enthusiastic team of experienced anesthesia technicians. The successful candidate will be able to facilitate case flow while providing their expertise and support to the veterinary staff and their patients. In addition to attending to a bustling caseload, enthusiasm for teaching technical staff, interns, and residents is a must! We offer a generous benefits package and a 4 day work week, excluding weekends.

Applicants for this position must be board certified or have completed a residency in anesthesiology and be eligible for board certification in 2018.
